It’s really easy to say, “don’t be stressed,” it’s way harder to actually mellow out when you have a million things to do. But you really expect to reach your fitness goals, you are going to have to learn how to effectively fight stress. You see, in the caveman days, if you got stressed, it meant that you were about to be eaten by a saber tooth tiger or a wildfire was fast approaching your cave. So when these things happened, the body responded by releasing hormones that help you run away faster than you could normally. One of these hormones is cortisol, which can burn away at your muscles and turn them into energy. Of course, nowadays, people are stressed by work, not predators, so all that energy from muscle burning essentially goes to waste, and may even damage your fitness plan. Lay Off the Coffee - Everybody reacts differently to caffeine, but for a lot of people, it might make them jittery, and more likely to let stressful events get to them. You might consider switching to green tea. It still has caffeine, but it’s more calming, and might even help burn fat.
