Fitness Trainers Says Give Yourself a Break
Every now and then and it's good to give yourself a break. Your body needs it, your mind needs it and your spirit needs it.
If you're doing resistance training take a week off every 2 to 4 months, your body will thank you and typically you'll come back stronger and get better results. Personally I do best if I take off one week every 2 months.
Now I wouldn't slack on the cardio 100 percent during this week off, at least do some light cardio every third day or you may feel a big shift in your moods if you're going from working out 4-6 days per week down to nothing. The key is to do zero resistance training during that week as your muscles need to repair themselves and get ready for another phase of training.
