A Personal Trainers Simple Rules for Losing that Fat (Once and For All)

How many times have you read an article in a fitness magazine and hoped that it would be the last article you ever read about fat-loss? That you could set a set of rules down once and for all to eliminate the guess work with your body and just simply get the job done. We all have time restrictions in our lives…schedules that we are somewhat slaves to and we are all trying to fit the fitness into these schedules so that we can be the healthiest and sexiest versions of ourselves. Here are the rules for fat-loss in the simplest form that I could possibly muster hoping that this WILL be the last article you ever have to read about getting rid of the fat and keeping it off forever.
1. Diet. How many times can you possibly hear how important this is? Well, there is a reason that so many nutrition and fitness professionals talk about this subject until they are blue in the face. Diet is truly THAT IMPORTANT. No amount of amazing fitness training will ever help you achieve fabulous results if you maintain poor eating habits. Garbage in –garbage out. In order to lose weight you must burn more calories than you consume.
What-Great options are healthy foods such as lean organic meats, fresh organic fruits and vegetables, oatmeal, and fiber, fiber, fiber! Absolutely no fast-food, pizza, burritos, candy or anything fried. Lay low on the carbs-especially sugar and flour-based products.
When-Watch when you eat your meals as the time of day you eat is almost as important as what you are eating. The largest meal (and the most carb-laden) of the day should fall into the morning category as this still gives you adequate time to burn those calories throughout the day. The downfall of many people is what Taco Bell is now selling (brilliant marketing) as the “fourthmeal”-the meal between dinner and breakfast that is always too close to bedtime to ever be a good idea.
Where-Again, avoid the fast food restaurant at all costs. A well-planned meal at home with the proper portion control and caloric research can be a highly enjoyed event with family or friends and one that will cost your body less in the long run. Remember, when you are in charge of the cooking, you always know exactly what is in it!
How-Using low-fat cooking options such as grilling (especially in the summer) can feel festive and keep the calories down. Generally meats and veggies that are put on the BBQ require much less sauce and circumstance! Grilled corn and asparagus don’t need butter and who needs creamy sauces on their steak when the meat is perfectly charred?
Why-Because you love your body, your life and your loved-ones, you want to keep living the healthiest life possible (of course) and because nothing feels as good as looking your best!
2. Resistance Training-Obviously, resistance training is great because it does burn calories. But that is not the only thing it’s got going for it. Activities that add muscle to the body actually helps burn fat by raising the general resting metabolic rate. The muscles not only look great but actually accomplish a very big purpose in the factoring in of the resting metabolic rate. The more muscle you have on your body, the more calories you burn when you are just “resting” or doing your everyday activities.
3. Cardio-Cardio keeps the body lean by raising metabolism and burning calories for hours after exercise. So it is another great activity that keeps the body burning and experiencing results even after you are finished. That is great news! Who doesn’t want a faster metabolism? Maybe that leaves room for a baby bite of ice cream?
So that is it my friends…I know that everywhere you turn you see a new and improved plan for weight loss but to be truthful the answer is quite simple (and you already knew what it was in your heart-but we are all looking for an easier way). Exercise more, eat less. When you use more calories than you consume, you lose weight. Easier said than done, huh?
