Change your Beliefs - a Fitness Training Interview with Chadi Bazzi

Here's a portion of an interview I did for an upcoming book with success coach Chadi Bazzi

When it comes to changing your body, it's important to change the beliefs that helped create your current body so you can create your ideal body. While Chadi mostly works with people to help them experience greater success in business, these same principles apply to succeeding in the gym and at the dinner table, which as you know means getting the body you want and the level of health and fitness you want.

Chris (CM): How can people change their beliefs at a real deep, subconscious level?

Chadi Bazzi (CB): I’m going to give you an example. One of the things we do is, we’ve developed a visualization called the Ten-Ten Visualization. And in the Ten-Ten Visualization what we do is we get a piece of paper - well, actually a journal, remind me to get one to you for our next workout session - it’s a book, a daily journal, basically. On the left hand side of the page you write down the ten things you are most grateful for in your life, because you’ve always got to come from a state of gratitude. On the right hand side of the paper, you write down the ten things that you are wanting. And on the bottom of the page you write down what it is that you want the universe to bring forth into your experiences. Then you close your eyes and you visualize whatever - you get yourself to feel good about whatever it is that you are grateful for, doing your visualization. Then you think about all the things that you are wanting and you just feel good about it. Remember, your highest goal is just to feel good, because if you’re not feeling good then you’re not vibrating good, and if you’re not vibrating good, the universe gets confused and doesn’t give you whatever it is that you are wanting. So, to develop the belief, daily ritual visualization about the belief.

CM: How about images and vision galleries and vision boards? What are your thoughts on things like that?

CB: I love that. As a matter of fact, as I speak to you right now, I am looking at my vision board. I do a combination of two things. The first thing that I do, Chris, is I write down my vision, and then everything that is written in my vision, I find pictures and match that experience and I put them in two places. Number one, I’ve got a vision board that I keep by my fireplace. Most people have a mirror. I keep my vision board up to remind me of whatever it is that I’m wanting. Number two, I create a dream book. This is something that I carry with me everywhere. It’s filled with all my dreams, and pictures, and everything that I’m wanting inside my dream book…

I start off my dream book with a quote by Michael Jordan. I go to the second page and there’s another little story called “Do Yourself a Favor.” The third page is the woman of my dreams: exactly what her eyes look like, what her lips look like. I basically took about 15 different women, and I took different body parts and put them together into the perfect woman, so I can bring her into my life. The next page is all about quality time, what it represents is me being in love with the ideal person that I want to be with to vacations and different experiences. The third page - on the top of it, it says “effortless,” with a beautiful, male model body and my face. I took the face off and put my face on. It says, “Build your best body ever” on the bottom of it. And as soon as I did that, all of a sudden I’m training and I’m looking better. Then there’s all my goals. “I, Chadi Bazzi, am a multi-millionaire and multi-millionaire maker. I’m a very happily married man with a loving family.” Then I pull down a list of affirmations. Then there’s my vision. Then there’s my picture of a view from my Vegas high rise home that I want to purchase. There’s a picture of - it says “One Vision, Many Events” and there’s an auditorium with about 50,000 people in it. That’s going to represent me speaking to about 50,000 people. There’s the cars of my dreams. There’s a list of “What do I want?” Everything that I want is listed right there. There’s a couple of quotes. Where do I want to go? There’s a hundred countries that I want to visit are all right here. Man of style. More homes. Beautiful experiences. More cars. The perfect description of my ideal wife. What do I want to have? A list of everything that I want to have. I attract perfect life experiences. And there’s more to it, of course. I’ll send you pictures.

CM: Chadi, when I hear you talk about this, I can feel your passion for this stuff. I can literally feel your excitement for it over the phone. How important is it, when someone craves something like this, that they are able to really get passionate about it?

CB: I think the moment that you create it is the moment that the passion begins to burn. The thing is, a lot of people say, “If only I could be motivated.” I say, “If only you could take the first step and identify whatever it is that you are wanting.” Just as a child. Remember when you knew your daddy was going to get you a bicycle. You couldn’t count the days until you got that bicycle. Or when Halloween was coming around, you couldn’t wait until Halloween so you could go trick-or-treating. The thing is, we lose sight of whatever it is that we are wanting. As a child, everything that you wanted you got anyway. It’s time to be a child again, my friend. That’s the whole belief.

CM: This is great stuff. I love your energy for this. How about audio recordings, like recording affirmations? Do you ever do anything like that?

CB: Absolutely. Absolutely. Recording affirmations, there’s that. You know what? I do a conference call every morning at 4:30 in the morning. You’re more than welcome to join us if you want. What we do is, we create a lot of energy and we do our affirmation in these calls every single morning. So, there’s not a day that passes by that I don’t affirm whatever it is that I’m wanting.

I want you imagine a watch, or a clock. At twelve o’clock, I want you to imagine the two words “Self Talk,” like you’re talking to yourself, right? Three o’clock think of your attitude. Six o’clock think of your actions. Nine o’clock think of your results. See, Chris, if you sat down right now for just five minutes and thought about all the negative experiences, or heartaches, that you’ve experienced in your life, what kind of attitude are you going to have?

CM: Not a very good one.

CB: And when you have a not-a-very good attitude, what kind of actions are you going to take?

CM: Not very good ones.

CB: And when you take a little action, or a not very good action, what kinds of results are you going to produce?

CM: Not the ones I want.

CB: And then your mind says, “See, I told you, you couldn’t do it.” It’s a cycle.

CM: And then it starts in with more self-talk and it’s just a –

CB: Exactly! So, it’s very important for me - every single morning - to start off my day in a positive track. I do my affirmations each and every single morning. “I am [indistinct]. I am an excellent coach. I am the owner of a multi-million dollar company. I am a happily married man to the woman of my dreams. I am the best father a son could ever have. See, you can tell I’ve said these a million times.

CM: Yeah.

CB: So, when I say that to myself, I have no option but to feel good. I’ve got a better attitude. I take better actions. I create better results. And every time you create better results, Chris, you have a better mindset. So, affirmations are a big thing for me.

CM: Sounds like you’re doing a constant bombardment to your subconscious, just drilling this stuff in constantly.

CB: You know what? We are constantly being bombarded with negativity. Turn on your t.v., there’s bad news. Open the newspaper, there’s bad news. Look at the advertising. Man, everything is negative. I’m being brainwashed. I’m might as well take control of the kind of brainwashing that I want. I take it a step further. In my bedroom, 24 hour a day, and I’m walking into my bedroom right now as I’m speaking to you, Chris. Here, you can hear it. There’s an audio program playing. Twenty-four hours a day, there is something playing and I have no idea what’s playing, when it’s playing. All I know is when I am in my bedroom or walking by my bedroom, whatever the universe wants me to hear, I hear it.

So, real quick, also, what I did is I took inventory of the truly successful people on the planet, and I came out with the ten things that they share in common. And this is something that each and every single one of your trainers, or anybody - this can relate to any person - if they adopted, it would be the ideal formula for success.

I’m going to run through it real quick. Number one, I put down, they have a clear picture of what their future looks like. They’ve got to get clear on their vision. I put down they have a dream book. They read daily. I read a book a week. Number four, I put down they continuously keep their mind involved in a body of personal development programs. You’ve got to be listening to something constantly. I put down they envision their future all day, every day. I put down, they visualize their future, they see it clearly. They respect themselves physically, they do exercise. They have a powerful schedule. They have mastered the art of communication. They are accountable for all their actions. And they work harder on strengthening their weakness then they do on weakening their strengths.

So I’m going to elaborate a little, let’s start off with the reading one. They say that the average person reads less than one book per year. The reason I find this to be a critical one, is that if you walk into any successful man’s home, they all have a success library. Books. And, a lot of people, what they’re doing - a lot of people want the secret to success, right? Guess what? All the secrets are already written about in books. All you’ve got to do is pick up a book, read it, and you learn something new. And I am a strong believer in reading early in the a.m. because you never know if whatever it is that you are reading in the morning could be exactly what you are needing in the afternoon or that evening to finish off your day positively. Nine out of ten times, that’s exactly what’s taking place. Whatever it is that you are reading is shaping your [indistinct] and what you are focusing on is that.

CM: Can you give us five or ten books that would be great starters for someone new to this kind of stuff?

CB: Absolutely. Let me take a look at my library here in my office. Number one, of course, everybody’s got to start with the book Ask and It is Given by Jerry and Esther Hicks.

CM: Great book.

CB: I think that is an excellent book. And to follow up with that book would be The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent, their next book. Also, The Power of Intention would be a great book, by Wayne Dyer.

CM: Great book.

CB: Another book that a lot of people might not be familiar with, that I think every single person should read, is called Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life by Brian Tracy. Another book, also about the law of attraction, before it was thought of as the law of attraction, is called The Aladdin Factor.

CM: The Aladdin Factor by Jack Canfield?

CB: Exactly. That is another great book. Another one, in regards to the law of attraction, is called Write it Down, Make it Happen. Have you read it?

CM: I’ve read almost all of these.

CM: Good. That’s an excellent book. Think Like a Winner by Dr. Doyle. Being the Solution is a book every single person must read and a lot of people are not family with it.

CM: Who is that by?

CB: Darel Rutherford.

CM: Being the Solution?

CB: Being the Solution. I would say - and I’ve read hundred of books - I’d put that in the top five. It’s all about who you are being.

Think and Grow Rich, that’s a classic. The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, that’s a classic you’ve got to read. The Greatest Salesperson in the World everyone’s got to read. The Alchemist everyone’s got to read. The Power of Focus is something everybody must read. There is a lot of classics.

CM: I myself have a huge library. I actually read a book a week, and I’m always in the middle of someone’s CD program or DVD set, There’s a lot of people that can’t stand to read. What would you suggest to them?

CB: What I would say to them is - I would have them write down the following quote, Chris, and really get them to believe in this quote. And the quote is, “your greatest grope [?] lies within the things that you resist the most.” So, simply the fact that you are resisting the reading is all the more reason as to why you need to engage in it. What I do with my clients, Chris, is I begin them by saying, “I know you sit in the bathroom for at least five minutes every morning. Why don’t we start off there. Five minutes every single morning.” Because what you want to do is, just working out with your muscles, you want to start off small and build your muscles up little by little by little by little. You’ve got to work your mental muscles that way, too, in regards to reading. So, simply the fact they want to resist something is all the more reason why they should do it. I would sell them on the idea that if they don’t do it, they aren’t going to succeed on the level they want to. Instill that fear in them. Most people are pain driven.

CM: Now, do you feel that listening to audio recording of these books - like getting these books on tape - do you think that’s as effective?

CB: I think that is just as effective - it depends on certain people. There are certain people are auditory people. Certain people aesthetic. Certain people are more visual. For the visual people, I would say read. So it depends on their strategy, but I think every single person should adopt the habit of both, not only one.

CM: Chadi, I appreciate your contribution with us today. What is your website? And how can people get a hold of you?

CB: Right now, the company website that I am associated with is YourCoach.com. However, if people want to go directly and read my thoughts and - I’ve got a blog site, and everything that I speak about is on this for the world. It’s called secretstomastery.com. That’s my blog site. That would be the best place for somebody to go and really learn about everything that you and I talked about today, and it’s out there for the world.
